Hurricane Ida Update: September 7, 2021

We have established our relief headquarters and are working hard! IDES has distributed supplies including tarps and more than 100 cases of water. Our volunteers have already helped multiple families with tree clean-up and patching their roofs. IDES first round of volunteer groups are working and blessing people!

Hurricane Ida

(August 29, 2021)

Hurricane Ida made landfall just before noon on Sunday, August 29th. Ida made landfall as a category 4 hurricane with winds of 145mph. The hurricane lead to widespread power outages leaving all of New Orleans dark. IDES disaster coordinators have been in contact with many of our partnering churches and were in route before Ida made landfall. They will begin establishing relief headquarters and assessing the damage.
